Robert E. Barth, 84 of Stanley, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Oakbrook
Nursing and Rehab Center-Thorp. He was born on February 18, 1935 to
the late Conrad and Gertrude (Maier) Barth. Bob grew up south of Thorp
on Bachelors Avenue and attended Maple Ridge Grade School and
Greenwood High School. Bob married Esther Leech on May 11, 1963 at
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Thorp.

In his younger years Bob worked for his Uncle Cesar and John in the saw
mill and the thrashing crew. He also spent a couple falls out west
harvesting crops. Bob worked a few years in Milwaukee at Briggs and
Stratton and then the Owen Dairy. Bob then worked for Stanley Bottling
works for 23 years then owned and operated Bob’s Sanitation-Stanley.
He retired from Waste Management.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman all his life. He was on the board of
directors at the Goggle Eye Trap Club where he was “Top Gun” 5 years
straight. Bob also was a member of the Otter Lake Bass fishing group.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Esther of Stanley, his God
Children, Dawn Blawat, Nancy Kriesel and Trevor Fredrickson, his
brothers, Conrad Barth of Thorp, Fred (Nancy) Barth of Greenwood and
Ed “Chap” (Kathy) Barth of Thorp, his sisters, Ione (Ralph) Much of
Shiocton, Donna Hein of Sun Prairie and Trudy (Roger) Holfelder of
Mount Horeb. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother,
Leonard (Angie) Barth and a sister in law, Lorrie Barth.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at
the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley with Rev. Kenneth Schmidt
officiating. Burial will follow in the Donald Cemetery. Visitation will be on
Monday from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the
funeral home.
