Cheryl L. Cox, 52, of Stanley, was called to her heavenly home on Monday,
February 13, 2017 at Mayo Health System-Eau Claire Hospital. She was born
on June 15, 1964, the daughter of Joseph and Karen (Olson) Koltis. Cheryl
grew up in the Thorp area and graduated from Thorp High. She then went on
to Lawrence University and graduated with a BA degree in Social Work in
1988 from Mt. Senario College in Ladysmith.
Cheryl married Michael Cox on March 23rd, 1983. The couple lived in Thorp
and Cheryl ran My Home II: Daycare. After the couple moved north of Stanley
she worked at Crossroads Counseling in Stanley. Cheryl's life was dedicated
to loving her family, her animals, the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and her
instrumental role in co-founding and managing Cox Family Sugarbush.
She is survived by her husband, Michael of Stanley; her children, Joseph Cox
and Katelynn Cox both of Fargo, ND; Andrew Cox of Menomonie; her
granddaughter Cheyanne Cox; her mother, Karen J. Koltis of Thorp; her
brothers, Joseph D. Koltis of Salt Lake City, UT and Ronald (Deb) Koltis of
Thorp; and sister Karen A. (Tom Lobacz) Koltis of Stanley. Cheryl is preceded
in death by her father: Joseph A. Koltis (2016).
A memorial service will be at 11AM on Saturday, March 4th at the Plombon
Funeral Home-Stanley. Visitation will be from 9 AM until time of service
Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St.
Mary’s Catholic Cemetery-Huron.
