Gerald James Wojt (Jerry) age 78 of Gilman passed away
peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 3, 2017 at the
Cornell Health Care Center and under the care of Hope
Hospice.
Jerry was born in Clark County Wisconsin in the Township
of Withee on August 13, 1938. He was the son of Anton Sr.
and Rose (Lubrant) Wojt. He was united in marriage to
Patricia (Pat) White on March 21, 1959 in Stanley
Wisconsin.
Jerry grew up on his family farm in the Township of Withee
and graduated from Thorp High School in 1956. Jerry
worked hard all his life and held jobs as a milk can hauler
as well as at the Stanley Corporation, Midland
Cooperative, Area Equipment, Juzwiak Implement,
Branstiter Equipment and Fleet Farm where he then retired.
Jerry was known well for his mechanical talents and for his
inventions that made a work day easier. Jerry, along with
his wife Pat, enjoyed fixing up and selling homes after his
retirement. He enjoyed working with wood and building
furniture and birdhouses among other things. He loved
going to auctions and often would just sit and listen to the
auctioneer. He will be remembered by his children often
singing the Auctioneer Song. Jerry loved listening to polka
music and Johnny Cash. His biggest love was spending
time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years and 4 children.
Rose Gulcynski of Gilman, Jim (Lynette) Wojt of Marshfield,
Dennis (Cindy) Wojt of Cadott and Lori (Larry) Glebke of
Gilman, Seven grandchildren: Tim (Jessica) Gulcynski,
Brady Wojt, Calden Wojt, Allison (Branden) Bathke, Garic,
Kaitlyn and Kylie Glebke, One granddaughter-in-law:
Becky Gulcynski, Two great-granddaughters: Abigail and
Isabelle Gulcynski, Two brothers: Tony of Thorp and Dave
of Washington and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother
Johnny in infancy, his son-in-law Bruce Gulcynski and his
grandson Paul Gulcynski.
A private service will be held for the family per Jerry’s
request. Plombon Funeral Service-Stanley assisted the
family.
