Lillian M. Lingen, 86, longtime resident of the Stanley area, passed
away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, April 9th, 2017 at
Oakbrook Nursing Home-Thorp under the care of Ministry Hospice.
She was born on July 11, 1930 in Stanley to the late Matthew and
Susan (Ohlinger) Gindt. Lillian grew up in the Edson area and
attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. On October 24th, 1950 she
married Harvey Lingen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Edson. The
couple farmed in the Town of Delmar until 1994 when they retired and
moved to Stanley.
Lillian dedicated her life to her husband of 61 years and to her twelve
children and welcomed their spouses, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren with open arms. Lillian is best known for her
homemade cooking and especially her homemade bread and
chocolate chip cookies. Lillian also loved her flower gardens,
shopping and doing puzzles. Lillian will be remembered for her
kindness, spunk and sense of humor.
She is survived by 12 children, Eugene (Debbie) Lingen of Beloit,
Shirley (James) Brown, Sharon Feuerstein, Dean (Julie) Lingen, Lois
Lingen, Roger (Anna) Lingen, Timothy (Susan) Lingen, Julie Lingen,
and Gerald (Rita) Lingen all of Stanley, Laurie (Charles) Ziel of
Wittenberg, Dennis (Jennifer) Lingen of Bloomer, and David Lingen of
Bloomington, MN., 24 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one
sister, Margaret Snyder of Newberry, FL and sisters-in law, Delores
Gindt, Judy Gindt both of Boyd and Kathleen Lingen of Moorhead,
Lillian is preceded in death by her husband Harvey (2013), her
parents, grandson, Kristopher Brown, granddaughter Nancy Lingen,
son-in-law, Pat Feuerstein, sisters, Bertha Zimmerman, Adeline
Eaton, Hilldegard Berthiaume, and brothers, Robert, Edward, Arthur,
Carl, James and Garald Gindt.
A funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 12th at Holy
Family Catholic Church-Stanley with Father William Felix officiating.
Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday
from 4-8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:30PM and Wednesday morning
at the funeral home from 9AM until time of departure to the church.
