Obituary:

Patricia Ann Mason, 83 of rural Thorp, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 peacefully at home under the care of St. Croix hospice with her family by her side. She was born on August 24, 1941 to the late Max and Mildred (Baumgardner) Schultze. Pat was raised on the family farm in the Town of Worden and graduated from Thorp High School. She married Herman “Sam” Mason on September 3, 1966.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family—especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lit up her world. Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling hand in hand with her husband and side by side with her siblings, making memories that lasted a lifetime. She poured her heart into quilting, each stitch a reflection of her love and care. She was never a stranger to anyone— she loved to talk, to share stories, to listen, and laugh. Whether you knew her for years or just met her in the checkout line, chances are she left you smiling. Her flower beds were another place she poured her heart into, tending each bloom with the same warmth and attention she gave to everyone around her.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Sam, her daughters, Traci Mason and Staci (Frank) Lodahl both of Cadott, 5 grandchildren, Rusty (Brooke) Lodahl, Lindsey (Mike Weiland) Wiese, Tanner (Whitney) Lodahl, Brittany Frane and Laken (Jason) Haas, 12 great grandchildren, Korbynn, Kiah, Kynlee, Frankie, Willow, Brinley, Everly, Wesley, London, Lincoln, Lennon, Ledger, and her siblings, Max (Nancy) Schultze, Calvin (Jean) Schultze both of Stanley, John (Burlene) Schultze of Sioux Falls, SD, Harry (Sheila) Schultze of Eau Claire and Penny (Mike) Gillette of Marshfeild. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jean Gutowski, brothers, Richard, Raymond, Jerry, Ronald (Dutch) and Dale Schultze and half sisters, Sally and Mae and half brothers, William “Pete,” Jim, Howard and Henry “Hank.”

A memorial service will be at 11AM on Friday, August 1st at the Plombon Funeral Home with Michelle Earls officiating. Visitation will be from 9AM until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oakland Cemetery.
