John F. Lappley

Obituary:

John F. Lappley, 77 of rural Stanley, passed away on Friday, January 17th peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born on May 5, 1947 in Oregon, WI the son of the late Irwin and Dorothy (Legg) Lappley. John grew up there and graduated from Oregon High School.

He drove school bus for 38 years and sold lawn care. John served his country in the Air Force. John married Donna Salm on December 21, 1981. After their retirement the couple settled on Otter Lake and have been there since.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, going to Canada with wife and good friends, campfires, water-skiing and taking family and friends on pontoon rides on the lake.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, his daughters, Lori (Frank) Gibson of Madison, Heidi (Ken) Pearson of Alabama, Kelli (John) Killerian of Ridgeway, WI, Julie (Chuck) Penka of McFarlan, WI and Heather Lappley of Delaware, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. John is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, James Gibson, a sister, Pat Killerlain and his brother, Bud.

A Celebration of Life will take place in June of 2025. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
