On August 3, 2025, Bonnie Lou (Witmer) Flashinski, age 73, was called by the Lord after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. Bonnie passed peacefully in her farmhouse with husband, Pete, by her side.Bonnie was born on December 13, 1951, in Greencastle, PA to Paul and Catherine (Shoemaker) Witmer. Bonnie spent her early childhood helping at the family gas station and convenience store. At age 13, Bonnie's family moved to a dairy farm in Loyal, WI. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1969. As Bonnie left for college, her parents moved to another dairy farm in Platteville, WI.
Bonnie graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Early in her career (before having children), Bonnie worked as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Later in her career (as her youngest children were finishing high school), Bonnie worked for 9 years as a Public Healthcare Nurse for Clark County.
Bonnie met Pete Flashinski at a mutual friend's Halloween party while still in college. They married on October 18, 1975. Together, Bonnie and Pete prioritized family values and hard work as they raised their five children on their 2nd generation dairy farm in rural Thorp, WI.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Pete Flashinski; five children: Mark (Heather) Flashinski, Doug (Bia) Flashinski, Jeff (Tory) Flashinski, Karen (Darin) Delaney, and Julie (Zach) Bauer; thirteen beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, Helayna, Lydia, Selah, Brielle, Bradley, Clayton, Lucas, Emme, Ellie, Maksym, Ryker, and Bailey; four siblings: John, Shirley, Paul Jr., and Joseph; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her dear Aunt Mary, and her brother Harry.
Bonnie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her generous and loving heart, and her willingness to do anything for her family. She will be dearly missed, yet we grieve with hope in everlasting life with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Private services will be held to remember Bonnie and celebrate her beautiful life.
