Candy Swope

Obituary:

Candy Evette Swope died unexpectedly Friday, January 9, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1960 in Chippewa Falls to the late Everette and Sharon ( Wagner) Worthington. Candy grew up in Rockford, IL and later married her beloved husband Steve Swope on March 2, 1979. Together they built a family with four children, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Candy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her laughter and quirky sense of humor. She will also be remembered for her fierce passion for her family, pets, nature, history, and most of all her steadfast faith in Christ. We are comforted in knowing that she is dancing in the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband Steve, her four children, Amanda ( Travis) Schneider of Stanley, Jessica (Steve) Millen of Stanley, Joshua (Sara ) Swope of Stanley, Hannah Swope and her life partner Mark Fitzl of Stanley. Her grandchildren Vivian Schneider, Adriana ( Haiden) Gergely, Collen Schneider (Fiancé Elly), Cordell Schneider, Elaina Schneider, Elizabeth ( Jace) Roshell, Benjamin Millen, Kyle Smith, Katie Swope, Connor Swope, Darnell ( Fiancé Daitana) Seichter, Austen Seichter, Kwinn Seichter, Damien Seichter, Eli Seichter.

Her great-grandchildren are Ariana, Leeland, Maddison, Claire, Cayson, Zamual, and Prairie.

Her brothers, Mike Gunnurson, Jon Worthington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cindy Champion (Sister), Brandy (Niece), Penny Wagner, Brittney (Niece), Brother, Jerry Worthington.

A private funeral service with close family and friends is being held at the Plombon Funeral Home on January 13, 2026, at 11:00 am, with the burial in South Worden Cemetery in Stanley.
