Obituary:

Frances D. Day, 64 of Boyd, WI passed away peacefully in her home from natural causes on May 1st, 2026; leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was born on February 26, 1962 in Cheverly, Maryland to Arcelia Bigger and Noah Hunter. After finishing high school, she joined the US Army and proudly served her country.

Frances was guided by a deep love for the Lord, which led her to opening her home as a foster parent, running a women’s shelter and in her most recent years, serving as a missionary and minister with Global Missions in the countries of Bangladesh and Nepal. She traveled around the country and the world, always sharing her faith, touching countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and fun-loving spirit.

Above all else, Frances cherished her family. She was a devoted mother and proud, loving grandmother who gave endlessly of herself. Her daughters, and grandchildren meant everything to her, and she made sure they always felt loved, supported, and cared for.

She found joy in life’s simple, beautiful moments; playing Phase Ten with family, taking “candid” photos filled with laughter alongside her granddaughters, shopping trips, and trying out new grocery finds. These small traditions, became lasting memories that her family will hold close forever.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Nicole (Eddie) Trevino of Boyd, Danielle Hampson of Cadott, six grandchildren, Troy, Ayden, Elena, Alexuss, Arijah and Aaliyah, siblings Albert (husband of the late Veronica) Spraggins, Howard (Sharon) Brooks, Judy Baker, Cedric (Angie) Day and Christine Bowie, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Renes and James Day, her brother Leroy Brooks and sisters Veronica Spraggins and Diane Hunter.

A celebration of life will take place at 1pm on Monday, May 11th, 2026 at the Bridge Church in Thorp, WI with Pastor Lynden Shalm officiating. Visitation will be from 11am until time-of-service Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery-Stanley. Friends are welcome to join the family for a meal at the church following the proceedings. Plombon Funeral Service-Stanley assisted the family with arrangements.

Though she is no longer with us, her faith and love remain; she will be deeply missed and forever remembered. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” - Matthew 25:23
