Obituary:

Michelle Lee Nayes, 52, of Boyd, passed away on September 24, 2026. She was born on August 19, 1974 in Chippewa Falls the daughter of Kenneth J Gilles and Cynthia (Anderson) Burzynski. She grew up in the area and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School. She later went on to earn an associates degree in healthcare management. She married Lonnie Nayes on August 26, 2000 and together they raised their 5 daughters.

Michelle worked as a CNA for many years and a variety of jobs in the hospitality industry. She always had a passion for helping and serving others. Michelle had the gift of gab and could spark a conversation with someone anywhere she went. She never missed an opportunity to talk about her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Michelle was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, wife, aunt, and friend. She was someone her children could always turn to, someone who poured her heart and soul into her children and grandchildren, and someone whose presence meant so much to the people who knew and loved her most.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie, 5 children, Merissa (Briana) Cubito, Stephanie (Joe) Kane, Megan (Cody) Kane, Renee (Andrew) Nayes, and Katelyn (Damian) Pogodzinski, 8 grandchildren, Jaxson, Lucas, Emilia, Kyler, August, Oaklynn, Kasyn, and Kinsley, her siblings, Michael Gilles, Mindy (Ben) Miland, Mark (Brittni) Burzynski, Matthew Burzynski, and Michael (Theresa) Burzynski, her mother, Cyndi (Buzzy) Burzynski, and many nieces and nephews. Michelle is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Rose Anderson, maternal great grandmother, Margaret Leidl, aunt, Patricia LaMarche, father, Kenneth Gilles, 2 grandchildren, Archer and Lennon Cubito, and several uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6PM on Friday, October 2nd, 2026 at the Plombon Funeral Home – Stanley, WI. Visitation will be from 4PM until time of service.
