John R. Reit, III

Obituary:

John R. Reit, III, 63 of rural Stanley, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Friday, January 31, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1961 to the late Jack and Virgean (Mattheisen) Reit. John grew up south of Stanley and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School. He worked for the Rollins Feed Mill in Stanley for 30 years and most recently for the LaGrander’s Cheese Factory.

He enjoyed collecting model cars, attending toy shows, car shows, and spending time with family.

John is survived by his sister, Deb Wilbur of Boyd; his nephews and nieces, Ricky Wilbur of Linn, MO, Kayla (Mark) Lewallen of Boyd, Courtney (Ryan Kroeplin) Wilbur, Shauna Wilbur, and Kyle Wilbur all of Stanley; and many great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Terry and brother in law, Ricky Wilbur.

A private internment will take place in Edson Union Cemetery with a Celebration of Life in the spring of 2025.
